The Wildlife Foundation (TWF) operates the
TWF Centre, which features eco-friendly cottages (often referred to as bandas) situated at the edge of Nairobi National Park in the Empakasi area. These accommodations are designed for low environmental impact and provide an immersive wilderness experience.

Key Features of the Bandas

• Capacity: The facility can accommodate up to 40 overnight guests (with a total day capacity of 120).
• Design & Amenities:
  • Themed Cottages: Rooms are wildlife-themed and include basic amenities with a focus on sustainability.
  • Facilities: Includes en-suite bathrooms, comfortable bedding, and solar-powered lighting.
  • Common Areas: Guests have access to a central dining area where three meals a day are typically provided, and the center includes two conference rooms ("The Barn" and "Library room") for groups.
• Wildlife Proximity: Located in a critical wildlife dispersal area, guests can often see animals such as giraffes, zebras, and antelopes roaming near the facility.
